Here's a really neat seldom seen original vintage Hitchcock scene chair
This captain's arm chair was made for Hope College out of Holland,
Michigan, and features an original stenciled folk art painting on the backrest
by M. Morgan
The chair has a name on the back Harry E Knudson Jr., and a date of '43
1943)
I have been told by another er that this chair could have been made in
the 1990's for a person that graduated Hope College in 1943, similar college
chairs retail for around $1,200
The chair is in solid shape, very tight and very usable condition
Notice there is a worn spot on one corner of the rush seat, and a small
missing piece on the back side of one of the upper corners of the backrest
this is not noticeable from the front), otherwise just light nicks and scuffs
expected
Being a smaller college I would guess there are very few of these chairs
around
It measures approximately 21" wide, 20" deep, by 32" tall, the armrests are
26" off the ground, the front of the seat is 19.5" wide and the back of the
seat is 16 3/4" wide, the front of the seat is 17.5" off the ground and the
seat is 15.5" deep front to back
Due to size and/or weight this item will ship FedEx only to a street
address in the contiguous 48 states.
