CONDITION:
Violin condition: In good vintage/antique condition. Shows wear from age and
use. It definitely needs work. Has good bones. The pros: There are no visible
cracks or splits in the wood and the major parts are included. Neck looks
straight and the one piece back looks even.
The issues: Strings need replacing. Wood has significant scuffs so refinishing
is likely required. Bridge area needs to be checked for tightening, repairs, or
may need to be replaced. The included wood bow needs stringing and cleaning.
Case condition: Frame is good in regards to having no dents or push ins and
the lid aligns with the base. Lock does not work but 2 hinged closures work to
keep case closed. They are all rusty and scuffed. The outer faux alligator
print covering and inside green plush fur lining are in poor to fair condition
from age, wear, and use. You can see the issues in our photos.

RESEARCH INFO:
In the early 1900's, John Juzek ran a factory in Schonbach, Czechoslovakia
renamed Luby after World War II), where John Juzek labeled instruments were
crafted. The John Juzek imprint on the label inside the F-holes reflect an
import -to-U.S trade name, not the craftsman. The city and country imprint
reflects the location of Juzek's shops, which were mostly in Prague before
World War II. The instruments were sold in North America, mostly in New York
City area, exclusively through Metropolitan Music Company (originally called
Czechoslovak Musical Instruments Company), a New York City firm founded in 1920
by Robert J. Juzek."
Production Dates:
1920 to 1941 -Prague & Schonbach, Chz.
1941 to ? -Germany
This violin is marked "Prague" inside.)

DISCLAIMER & RETURNS:
We enjoy finding treasures from the past to offer on Ebay. Sometimes we can't
find much info about an item or confirm the origin, brand, or maker. We
appreciate when our fellow eBayers send us their knowledge & expertise on these
items. When we use info from other sellers, we trust that in good faith they
are giving us factual, accurate, honest, & genuine info.
Most of our items are vintage antique treasures that have retired and no
longer made. We price them at fair & reasonable market prices based on research
results, final value of what sold, & what's currently for sale online. We
research every item before it's listed. No shortcuts!
We aim for 100% accuracy when adding info to our detailed descriptions. We
show the maximum of 12 photos to ensure there's no misunderstandings. And we
state that any questions are encouraged before purchasing to clarify the
information.
The majority of items we sell are fragile. Many are vintage, original,
antique, or one of a kind. Therefore, we can not accept returns. It's too risky
to ship items back & the ship fees can become costly for both parties. If we
are at fault & made a human mistake, we will own up to it. If we can't prove to
you that our data is correct or inadvertently left out a major flaw, we will
accept the return. The return must take place within 30 days of purchase. After
30 days, return requests will be null, void, & unaccepted. This is more than
fair and we are not a major department store.
