Dyon Clair' DESCRIPTION:192 years old and a very rare American antique leather-bound second edition of'The History of Philip's War,' commonly called 'The Great Indian War of 1675 & 1676,' written by Thomas Church with an appendix by Samuel Drake and published by J and B Williams, Exeter, New Hampshire in 1829, with a single illustrated woodblock drawn black and white plate. Found here in southern New Hampshire in the Manchester, NH area, it's estate fresh and new to the marketplace. There's some visible slight to at times moderate foxing and paper tanning found within. The leather spine's intact and the leather covers are mottled and have a variegated color finish. The interior pages are largely intact, with no loss, tears, repairs (old or new.) The leather spine's decorated with gold gilt stamped, embossed typography with the abbreviated title
Indian Wars'on a charcoal black spine band, accompanied by double gold gilt embossed thin bands. This is a very early and very scarce and I may even venture to add rare volume, chroniclingKing Philip's War from the European perspective. One of the few and rare volumes aboutlate 17th century New England history.
