TITLE : Calligraphy
Signature (Seal) : YAMAOKA TESSHU (1836-1888) was a famous swordsman and
politician from the end of the Edo period to the Meiji period. He played an
important role in the Meiji Restoration. He learned swordsmanship from Yamaoka
Seizan (1829-1855) and married his younger sister. He is called the "Bakumatu
San Shu" together with Takahashi Deishu and Katsu Kaishu.
