Item Description
Up for your consideration is an original gouache/watercolor painting of a Chicago alleyway by the well-listed Chicago artist William Jacobs (1897 - 1973). Jacobs works have hung at the Art Institute of Chicago, where he taught and was educated. Detailed information about the artist can be found on-line.
This work likely depicts a Chicago alleyway, with pigeons and wood fencing. I am not sure of the location. It is dated 1947. The work is large, measuring 22.5" x 18", and in housed in a museum-quality, expertly constructed wood frame, measuring 33.5" x 28.5". The painting is housed behind a glass panel. 
Both the painting and the original wood frame are in excellent condition, free of concerns other than some minor loss to the paint on the wood frame (normal aging). It is ready for immediate hanging, and apparently came from a smoke-free home. 
The paint used was an enhanced gouache, which is a "thickened watercolor." The colors and richness of the paint are exceptional on this piece.
